The authors, seasoned writers of travel guides, list countless sea, river, lake, and canal trips of varying lengths. Entries are straightforward and informative and make few qualitative judgments. Descriptions are thorough but do not include price, a vital part of travel planning. Many of the boat trips listed are included in standard travel guides. Also, few travelers venture to all four corners of Europe, making this volume perhaps more inclusive than most people will find necessary. Still, the book is a source of fresh ideas and will be useful to more experienced travelers looking beyond "if it's Tuesday, this must be Belgium" attractions.
